A White Slab of Architecture
15th May 2019
Such a stark contrast to the surrounds! This white protruding box sits boldly in the hills of Portugal. Every angle offers a new shape to admire, beautifully photographed here by Fernando Guerra. Vitor Vilhena is responsible for the design, which had to fit the footprint of the previous house exactly. This allowed for a decent amount of space for this Modernist home.
The roof houses a swimming pool and provides the perfect place to take in the far-reaching views.
The white is rather dazzling, I would think this is a house best appreciated in early evening when the landscape is bathed in that golden glow.
