Irene de Klerk Wolters
11th September 2018
I happily stumbled across the work of Copenhagen based artist Irene de Klerk Wolters. She is perhaps a step further in abstraction than my usual taste. I like landscapes with colours that break the bounds of reality. However, Irene’s work has a warmth and a beauty that reels me in. I found this close up of Irene’s work and just loved the texture and flow.
These photographs of what inspires Irene, her family and their beautiful surroundings, are by Julie Marie and are just as captivating as her art.
Irene says “I paint in the belief that my paintings can change the atmosphere without dominating the space.” I do think she successfully brings emotion and maybe even drama, but in a quiet, confident and non-imposing way.
