Mirror Mirror on the Wall

20th November 2024

Today I was considering the surfaces that reflect back at us. My house is actually quite full of mirrors, not because I am vain I assure you! I seem to have inherited quite a few, from guided golden intricate ovals to simple wood encased rectangles that lean. I was thinking today about more modern offerings, and thought I would share five favourites with you.

The Ciclope Mirror by Claesson Koivisto Rune (featured image) has a lovely nautical feel. The name hints at Homer’s Odyssey and its’ mythical creature.

Entree Mirror from Bensen artfully combines practical use and elegance. I love how a shelf is incorporated.

Circ by Estiluz has an integrated light that hints at planetary eclipse.

Croma from Systemtronic has a quiet confidence I admire, standing to attention, ready to be of service.

And finally, Menteur by Philippe Stark for Glas Italia caught my eye. It cleverly presents the person perfectly in the middle of the surface whilst warping the image around the perimeter.
