PepsiCo Brand Updates
21st October 2024
I do love a journey, especially a branding one. PepsiCo recently marked their 125th anniversary last year by looking at their star products and giving their logos a little refreshment. The Pepsi logo itself hadn’t been revisited in 14 years and the new logo borrows from their brand design history, bringing a 1990s vibe.
Mountain Dew is the latest to be explored with 7Up having being spruced up just last year.
For Mountain Dew the company wanted to reintroduce the word ‘mountain’, making a clear connection with the great outdoors, adventure and energy. Illustration has been brought in and the colours of nature come to the fore. There is more of the 90s about this logo too, with a definite retro nod.
The early logos for 7Up are fun to see, apparently it was originally meant to be an antidepressant with some medicine thought to be included in the ingredients! The current branding illustrates the lift idea quite effectively. A new shade of green ups the freshness. Nicely done.
