Well, this is Cool
9th August 2021
Lego have released a typewriter that you can build – and sort of use – inspired by the actual machine founder Ole Kirk Kristiansen used. It’s mid-century modern in dashing mint green and really looks the part.
Released late July they have proved pretty popular, flying off the shelves. The machine works almost exactly like a real typewriter, you can press the letters, the paper moves and there are those familiar clunk sounds, but there is no ink in the ribbon.
A lovely thing though, and quite a design feat. Based on the concept that a Lego fan, British Steve Guinness, submitted to an ideas forum.
